CONDITION In the original publisher's full cloth binding, Volumes XXVIII, XXXIX, XLIII, XLV, XLVI, XLIX, and L in the original unclipped dust wrappers. Volume XXVII, XXVIII, XXIX, XXXI, and XXXII are in a quarter cloth binding with patterned paper to the boards. Some light marks to the boards and spines, heavier to Volume XXXV. Spine of XXXIV is discoloured with the spine label lifting a little. Spines of XXIV and XXXV are faded. Rear board of XXX is a little faded. A little bumping to the extremities. Text to the spine has rubbed off a few volumes. Pencil mark to the front board of XLII, some heavier marks to the boards. Dampstain to the spine of Volume XLIV. Front hinges of XXIV, XXXIII, and XL are starting but firm. Rear hinge of XXXI and XLIV is starting but firm. Hinges of XXXVI are starting but firm. Volume XLIV lacking front endpaper. Volume XLV dust wrapper is a little edge worn with one tape repair to the reverse, with some spots and discolouration to the wraps and a closed tear to the front joint and chip to the rear wrap. XLIX dust wrapper is edge worn with chips causing loss and closed tears. XXXIX dust wrapper with heavy loss to the spine and extremities, a little discolouration to the wraps and a few closed tears. Volume XXVIII dust wrapper is age-toned with some marks, and light edge wear, resulting in a chip to the tail of the spine and a closed tear to the spine. Volume XLIII is edge worn with a large chip to the rear wrap, a little discoloured and some light marks, and an ink blot to the tail of the spine. XLVI dust wrapper is edge worn with some large chips and closed tears, a few light marks to the wraps. L dust wrapper a little edge worn with a few small chips and closed tears, wraps a little age-toned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with only the occasional light spot. Prior owner's ink inscription to the half-title of Volume XXXVII. Overall Condition: Very Good Good GLOSSARY OF TERMS Overall Condition (Dustwrapper condition rating is shown after that for the book itself, where a dustwrapper is present) Fine - Very well preserved copy showing very little wear Very Good Indeed - Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy Very Good - Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy Good - Meaning not very good.
