Description: This is a painting on found tin of a black Devil and a snake by Georgia outsider artist RA Miller (1912-2006). The large painting depicts a black Devil with a pitchfork, dressed in yellow pants and a silver/blue shirt, and reads "DEVIL HAT(E) ALL KEEP YOU YOU IN TROUBLE." It is signed and measures 28 1/4" tall x 27" wide x 1" deep. The right and left edges are painted light purple in the creases, and on the left side is RA's familiar phrase "Lord Love You." We briefly displayed this, and it has since been carefully stored. The piece is in very good condition. (The backside has some rust, please see all photos). We bought this in 1994 from an antiques dealer who bought it directly from RA Miller in Georgia. They told us that RA called these large paintings on tin "Story Boards" and the black Devil was not to be trusted. It will be securely packaged for shipping. This piece of outsider art will be a great addition to your collection. Thank you for looking, and please check out our other listings.
