The very top end of the center fold was professionally backed with thin Japanese paper.Remarks: This very rare map shows ancient Egypt facing west. The detailed and extremely decorative depiction focuses on the area of the Nile. The map area is supplemented by two cartouches and two sailing ships on the Red Sea. Latin back text.
