Description: ORIGINAL ANTIQUE 19TH CENTURY NEOCLASSICAL NEAPOLITAN ITALIAN GOUACHE PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN WITY CYMBALSThis is a wonderful original. This is one of a pair of these wonderful 19th Century Italian portraits I recently acquired. They come from the estate of a wealthy local family that collected antiques and cars, with a special affinity for Italian in both genres. When I bought them I was hoping there would be some sort of signature when I opened up the frames but there was not. What I can tell you is that this is a wonderful original 19th Century Neapolitan gouache painting of a woman with hand cymbals. The image measures about 15 inches tall on sheet measuring 17 1/2 x 12 1/4 inches. Overall it is in excellent condition. The quality of the work is superior. I have given you closeups of the face and feet for you to see how well they are done. Then looking at the draping of her dress tells you that this was a superior artist. The image is in outstanding condition. Against a black painted background. As to be expected, the black background shows some minor scuffing and brushing. The sheet is hinged at the top to the archival backing. A wonderful French matte and gold frame make this a beautiful presentation of this stunning original painting.
