Description: Antique or Vintage Victorian French Style Carved Wooden Jewelry Box w/ Lithograph Le Lever Print Approximate dimensions: 10" x 8" x 2.5". Fabulous antique carved jewelry, dresser or keepsake box painted gold with a mirror inside. On the top we have a framed French silvered (I think) lithograph print behind glass. The original was an engraving entitled "Le Lever" meaning "sunrise" - a Paris chez de Launay, Graveur de Roy, grave par E. Chavanne 1774. The scene depicts an aristocratic lady in her very fine bed awakened by her handmaids, one is preparing her shoes, the other draws the canopy drapery back. She looks rather fully clothed with corset, perhaps it was just a nap. Minor wear. Missing its divider inside. Otherwise in pristine condition. Experienced international shipper.
