This is an American Icon from Durham, North Carolina. One of the most recognized brands ever in the USA who closed its doors forever in 1988. A year after the release of the blockbuster Bull Durham starring Kevin Costner. These are getting harder to find as they are so collectible because of their popularity. These are in a wonderful condition also which makes them even more sought after. Durham was one of the dominant cities in the tobacco industry and Bull Durham was its leader. So much so that when the American Tobacco Company started, they didn't want to take on the success of Bull Durham and their shredded pouch tobacco and explored other tobacco products instead. Their success in other lines gave them the ability to buy out Bull Durham in the late 1890s. The bull logo (which was actually supposedly "stolen" from a Durham, UK company that made Durham Mustard was seen all over and we older generations probably remember them painted on barns, in newspaper and magazine ads all over the USA. The brand became so popular with its celebrity endorsements and athletes that it became an integral part of baseball itself. The minor league baseball team is still named the Durham Bulls. The term bullpen they believe was coined from this tight relationship they had with Major League Baseball.
