Description: Decoy measures 24" long x 8" wide across bottom x approx. 13" tall. Branded E Flagg on the base, could be a Anthony Elmer Crowell decoy (1862-1952), of East Harwich, Massachusetts. Everyone I see with this this name on bottom seems to be a Crowell. Circa 1910. From the hunting rig of Elisha Flagg, member of swan island club. Apparently Crowell fulfilled a large order of cork body decoys to the Swan Island club around 1915. This goose was made for Boston Resident Elisha Flagg (1865 - 1948. Elisha was a member of Swan Island from 1907 to 1917 when he resigned. Has a larger crack in wood body on base. Some slight wood cracks throughout the decoy as well, see photos. A small shot hole on top middle of decoy. Head is metal. I would say Head is just as old as the decoy, but was attached with a wing nut on bottom, and may have contributed to the crack on bottom base. Head is probably a replacement done shortly after production, but cant be 100 percent sure. Has wear and signs of use and ageing throughout. Please see all the photos for the best description and ask any questions that you may have.
