Clausing Atlas 6" x 18" Mk. 2 Metal Lathe Threading and Turning

Description: For your consideration is this Atlas 6” x 18” Mk. 2 lathe made by Clausing Corporation of Kalamazoo, MI. There are 8 spindle speeds (4 in back gear, 4 in open gear) ranging from 55 rpm to 2300 rpm. Changeable gearing allows for feeds of .0024” per revolution to .0078” per revolution (horizontal direction only). The gearing also enables threading ranging from 8 threads per inch to 96 threads per inch. This lathe is in good operational condition, gibs are well adjusted, and ways are in good shape. I had previously sold this lathe here on Ebay, but due to a shipping mishap I got it back with the cover in pieces and a couple of other broken and missing parts. I repaired the cover with sheet copper and rivets, so it’s stronger than it originally was. I made or purchased the other pieces it needed, and the lathe is back in good order. Included is all the gearing needed for feeds and threading, a 4 jaw chuck (like new), 2 face plates, a lathe dog, 2 dead centers (one for headstock and one for tailstock), a tailstock drill chuck, a tool post with tool holders, various wrenches, the motor pulley, key, and belt, miscellaneous cutting tools, center drills, thread gauge, and manual. Everything included is in the photos. The lathe weighs about 90 pounds. Overall length is about 34”, height is 10 1/2”. It has a 3” swing over the ways. You’ll need to supply a motor in the range of 1/3 to 1/2 horsepower, with a 5/8” diameter shaft, frame size C56 or equivalent. Thanks for looking. Local pickup encouraged as shipping could be pricey.
