White Oak was a very popular building wood back in the 1800's because of its density and strength. This wood comes from virgin growth in WNY from trees that were well established well prior to the area being settled. This bolt action pen is one of a kind. Shaped like a 30 caliber bullet with bolt action that engages the writing tip. It includes a bolt action rifle clip, a replica 30 caliber cartridge and a rose gold bullet tip. The ink is black ball point that writes with ease. These are available in three different metal finishes; Chrome, Gold & Gun Metal. The pen comes in a pen gift box with window. Also included is a historical card on the American Chestnut used in this pen. The card provides the history and location of the barn where this wood came from plus a photo of the barn prior to deconstruction. You not only have a great writing instrument, but also have a documented piece of history. You can also elect to receive this in a miniature rifle box making it a great gift.
