Description: The item for sale is a seven piece tea service for two set that was made in Germany before the middle of the twentieth century. There is no distinct maker's mark except for an obscure numerical mark on the bottom of a saucer as seen in the last photographs. All of the pieces are marked E B Lattorff, Hamburg for the high end retailer in Hamburg, Germany who sold high quality items. The porcelain was probably made in Dresden or Meissen for sale at Lattorff as there is no country of origin mark required for export. The porcelain is delicate and beautifully decorated. There are gilded bands and embossed wispy decoration that is hand painted with blue enamel. The set includes a teapot (7" x 7"), handled sugar bowl (4 1/4" x 5"), cream pitcher (3 1/2" x 3"), two cups ( 2 3/4" x 3") and two saucers (5" x 3/4"). The set is nearly flawless except for a few tiny chips on the cups. One cup has one tiny superficial chip on the rim. Similarly, there are two tiny superficial chips on the other cup. Two of these chips are shown in photographs. There were no flaws found on the other pieces. There are some very light crazing lines on the bottom of a saucer.
