Description: Offered is a Waterman collection of four writing instruments. Each Waterman roller ball pen features a separate cap and body design.Manufacturer: Waterman.Place: Paris, France.See descriptions below that highlight distinctive features:1. The Waterman Liaison model is a link between the Waterman heritage and modern times. The design of the pen is an interpretation of the LeMan spirit presented in a classic and sophisticated profile. It replaced the Man 100/200 as Waterman's "top of the line" pen, I believe in 1994. However, it's reign was short-lived. I think I have read that it was produced only for two years. In contrast, both the Gentleman and Man 100 were produced for about 10 years. I'm sure there is an interesting story about the development and the rapid demise of the Liaison, but it is unknown to me.Measures: 14.3 cm long, 12.2 mm diameter.Period: circa 1994.Features: The substantial black gloss lacquer barrel over brass is basically a cylinder with a slight swelling in mid-length, wave pattern accented bands and clip finished in 23 Kt. gold-plate. There is no defined separate section. The Waterman emblem on the cap is cast in a gold hexagon.Includes: Pen, original fitted box and outer sleeve, additional ink refill in plastic tube, product and model book.2. The Waterman L'Etalon model is an expression of elegance and modernity. It is considered one of the best modern Waterman pens, both in design and construction. The design features are pure and harmonious.L'Etalon means The Stallion.Measures: 14 cm long, 13 mm diameter.Period: circa 1990-2000.Features: The substantial dark green gloss lacquer, giving it that unique vintage British/Irish green look & appeal, barrel over steel with brass accents is a very large pen, can be considered oversize. A signature feature of this pen is the hexagon insert on the band in matching color, also lacquer, and represents just the outline of the modern Waterman logo W which is enclosed in a hexagon. The accented bands and clip are finished in 23 Kt. gold-plate.Includes: Pen, original fitted box.3. The Waterman Expert II model is a first production, and out of the line, special edition Expert model. There are few variations of this model, but this is probably the rarest and most beautiful of them all. The pen is stunning, extremely high shine, very beautiful appeal with marble lapis lazuli blue color. The Expert II had long been one of the most popular modern Waterman pens. In 2011, Waterman updated the design ever-so-slightly and introduced the Expert III "New Generation."In the pen world, sometimes manufacturers can take the same model and update it to improve upon the design, tweaking the size, trims, or body shape enough that they need to release it as a "sequel" to the original. Such is the case for Waterman with their Expert II & Expert III New Generation.Measures: 140 mm long, 13.2 mm diameter.Period: circa 1998.Features: The large lapis lazuli blue gloss lacquer barrel over solid steel base is a truly engineered pen with superb writing balance and grip. Generously proportioned, the cigar-shaped barrel & signature beveled button on the cap distinguish this writing instrument, classic black gloss lacquer trim over the center band and clip finished in 23 Kt. gold-plate.Includes: Pen, original fitted box.4. The Waterman Charleston model is a nostalgic vision of the past, yet perfect for modern times. The Art Deco styling recalls cocktail chic of the Roaring Twenties and historic signings of silent movie stars, influenced by The Hundred Year pen, a 1939 Waterman masterpiece. In true Waterman fashion, its aerodynamic lines conceal the latest technology for a smooth reliable writing experience like no other.Measures: 134.6 mm long, 12.7 mm diameter.Period: circa early 2000s.Features: The grooving, bold chromed ring and geometric lines are of Art Deco inspiration. The black gloss lacquer barrel over steel is basically a tapered cylinder, Art Deco aesthetic pattern accented bands and clip finished in Chrome.Includes: Pen, original fitted box, additional ink refill, product book.About the manufacturer:Waterman Pen Company: Founded in 1888 by Lewis Edson Waterman, the L.E. Waterman Pen Company was the gold standard for fountain pens. When he first began selling his pens in a cigar shop at 136 Fulton Street in New York, Waterman routinely sold out of his supply of 36 pens, all he could make in a week. What drew Waterman’s customers to Waterman pens was the same thing that had caused this former insurance salesman to invent a better pen in the first place: the need for a reliable writing instrument. The Waterman pen company was leading the inventor and manufacturer for decades, producing some of the best fountain pens in the world.
