Description: For sale is the first album from Mike and the Mechanics. This is from my personal collection. I have not played my vinyl records in decades. Also, when they were played they were played very few times and handled very carefully. I normally made tapes from the records and listened to those, because that's what you did back then. They have been stored away from heat and light all this time. Vinyl: E Cover: VG+ (There is some ink discoloration on the left side of the back cover. This is the way it was when I bought it. It looks like it was a printing error from the factory.)Inner sleeve: VG+ Vinyl Grading System Inherent in the format, vinyl records have a large surface exposed to contact from a variety of sources. Not all vinyl surface marks are "scratches." A true scratch on an LP is a significant indentation of the vinyl that lessens the listening experience in a measurable way. Surface marks, on the other hand, should not lessen the listening experience. I know it's hard to describe the condition of a vinyl record, and it can be quite subjective, but I try to do the best I can. Mint (M) – Still sealed. Vinyl has never been played. Near Mint (NM) – The vinyl has been played once or twice, if at all, and still looks very glossy. There are no immediately perceptible marks or imperfections appearing on the vinyl or labels. Excellent (E) – Very light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times, or tiny signs of general use from handling and playing, but there is very little lessening in visual or sound quality. The labels look crisp and clean. Very Good Plus (VG+) – A few further detectable faults on the vinyl, but nothing that really compromises the record audibly. The vinyl may have a slight scuff, some light inaudible marks, or a little background crackle, etc. The labels still look good, but may have a stray spindle mark. Very Good (VG) – The vinyl has obviously been played a number of times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. The labels may have some spindle marks, discoloration, or other imperfection. Good (G) – The record has been played a number of times and the sound quality has likely deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. Still quite listenable. The labels have noticeable imperfections. Fair (F) – The record is playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. Poor (P) – The record will not play properly due to a damaged surface. Label missing, torn, or otherwise in poor condition. Cover and Inner Sleeve Grading System. (Due to their age, the covers of most of my albums have condition issues. Cardboard and paper don’t age as well as vinyl!) Mint (M) – Still sealed. No damage or imperfections to the cover. The plastic wrapping is intact. Near Mint (NM) – The cover has no immediately perceptible creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable defects. The same is true of the inner sleeve and any inserts. Excellent (E) – The cover and inner sleeve have some slight wear, creasing, or other barely noticeable defects. Very Good Plus (VG+) – The cover and inner sleeve have some typical shelf wear, slightly bent-up corners, warping, or a slight seam split. The cover may also be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation, or cut corner. The inner sleeve may have some: wrinkles, discoloration, slight tears. Very Good (VG) – Normal wear and tear on the cover, without any major defects. These may include typical shelf wear, scuffing, discoloration/stains, creases, wrinkles, warping, or seam splits. The inner sleeve may also have noticeable wrinkles, tears, discoloration/stains, or seam splits. Good (G) – A few further condition issues. These may include noticeable shelf wear, scuffing, creases, wrinkles, warping, or seam splits. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects may also be present. The inner sleeve may have similar issues plus significant tears. Fair (F) – The cover may have significant shelf wear, scuffing, creases, wrinkles, warping, or seam splits. Sections of the cover surface may have been torn away. The cover may have some limited water damage. Inner sleeve may be fully split, ripped, crinkled, or written upon. Poor (P) – There are seam splits and the cover is also heavily marred by wear and writing. The cover may have water damage. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully split, crinkled, torn, or written upon. I ship within a day or two of payment. From a smoke-free home. Thank you.
