They are completely waterproof and are quick and easy to get going. I simply use the Spotiy app on my iPhone (bluetooth connected) to play whatever I want to hear when swimming, grilling or just relaxing on the hammock in my backyard. I can go outside after a heavy rain and fire them right up (no need to take them inside for storage except when charging them - I will get to that part shortly). I could probably even fire them up when it is raining, but haven't had the desire to try that just yet. They look like real rocks, so they blend in seamlessly with the landscape and actually look really good. The sound quality is on par with my JBL Flip 5 (i.e. you get a lot of loud, high quality sound in a small package)....maybe even a bit louder than my JBL. They can play for around 6 - 7 hours before needing to be recharged. When one runs out of battery power, I wait until I am done in the yard and take the speaker to the electrical outlet on my patio to recharge. I have a power strip ready to go with 4 separate USB charging cables plugged in. I will just plug them up, as needed, and leave them until I am ready to put them back around the pool. Whether that is in a few hours or a few days (leaving them plugged in for an extended period of time will NOT damage the battery or cause any problems). They have an indicator light that glows red until they are fully charged so there is no guessing when they are fully ready to rock. I am extremely pleased with these speakers and vouch for their overall sound and quality 100%. In fact, I am seriously considering pulling another set from inventory - you can link up to 99 of these at once - to add to my "yard of sound" (I hope my neighbors like Led Zeppelin). If I had to come up with a list of cons, I suppose it would be nice to have a battery that lasted longer than 6-7 hours of straight play (loud), but for the power they crank out, I am not sure if that is even possible based on what is currently on the market. I would also like a bit more bass. The mids and highs are excellent, and there is enough bass to properly round out the sound, but I prefer a bit more bump. When compared to similar wireless speakers of the same size and wattage, I am not sure how much more bass could be generated...but I am trying to come up with cons, so I figured I would throw that one out there. If I can think of any more, I will update this review.
