Description: This rare 1948 Gruen Precision Bumper Automatic Watch is a vintage timepiece that works great. The watch features a two-piece strap and a polished case finish. It also has a screwback caseback and an acrylic crystal. The watch is not water-resistant and does not come with papers, service records, or original packaging. The Gruen Precision watch has 17 jewels and a mechanical (automatic) movement. It displays the time on a 12-hour dial and has a reference number of Veri-Thin. This watch is a great addition to any watch collection and is perfect for men who appreciate vintage watches. Wow! in good shape and runs smoothly. I have not been able to find this one anywhere else...This appears to be an original band and the "small second hand" This cool vintage watch is are real looker...This is a "Veri-Thin" Verson of the Gruen of it's day, and was the "auto wind", a type of automatic mechanical watch. It got the nickname "bumper" because the weight inside taps a spring at either side of it's travel.Condition Report:The watch is preowned, and it is running at the time of evaluation, nothing is guaranteed regarding accuracy or function. It is running perfect as far as I can tell. As it's vintage I ran it for a short period of time no guarantees of future accuracy, waterproofness or function. I see no evidence of concerns, other than I'd replace the band and perhaps get it lubricated.
