Description: I will produce-- especially for you-- a unique, single-edition of one, custom dial card for your vintage rotary phone. Your dial card will be printed to order on medium card stock which has been repurposed from vintage print media. I have hand punched the card to a diameter of 1 and 1/2 inches. Black and off white tone will be used to give your card an aged appearance using fonts that replicate a vintage dial card look when some of the numbers were hand stamped and some machine printed. (Any white edge marks if present will not show when installed.) 1950's were a time before area codes but when seven number dialing using exchange names as part of their numbers were first introduced (see below). I am happy to send multiples of the exact same design and exact same custom phone number at a discount when specified at the time of your initial order using the discount button. I am also able to print cards with diameters of 1 and 1/4 inches or 1 and 11/16 inches with the same type of design--please message me if you need one of these sizes. I also have a series of cards with the particular size and shape of dial cards for mid-era Automatic Electric phones. The diameter of your card will be 1 and 1/2 inches with or without a notch so that your card will fit Western Electric, Northern Electric, ITT and others using plastic finger wheels for type 6-9 dials. These will fit some Stromberg Carlson and Automatic Electric finger wheels as well. Specifically though, they will not fit European phones, older metal ring finger wheels that are 1 1/4 inches, or Automatic Electric finger wheels that are 1 and 9/16 inches. Each card is made when you order and will have some variations in color from what you see here which was printed, photographed, and displayed on your cell phone or computer screen. Under the exchange system, the first two numbers were represented by the first two letters of a word, followed by the rest of the word in a smaller different font which was not dialed, the third number in the phone number, then a hyphen, and finally the last four numbers (which were hand applied in the field) to make up a unique seven digit phone number.
