In 1937 W.B. Schulte, McGall's employer started the company MICRO SWITCH. Honeywell Sensing and Control acquired the company and the Micro Switch trademark in 1950. The name has become a generic trademark for any snap-action micro switch. Honeywell still manufactures micro switches in Freeport, Illinois, and has other plants around the world.
