Description: I had all the colors of nib except Black and Gray in this model. They have been selling quickly so my inventory is not as complete. See the picture with the description of these “color” nib pens in a Waterman advert(last pic.). Offered is a nice Waterman c. 1920s #7 Red Ripple color coded fountain pen. This one has the Yellow color band on the cap and a “YELLOW” designated nib. The nib is a #7. It is Medium with outstanding flexibility. All these color coded nibs can vary significantly in terms of flex and line width. This is based on my personal experience in handling thousands of pens. This particular nib is amazingly flexible while still maintaining the physical characteristics of the YELLOW designation. See the writing sample created with this nib. In the Waterman adverts of the time it was described as good for Left Handed writers. Or in other descriptions as “Ballpoint”. The pen barrel is clean with no perceptible imprint. It is bright and shiny with no fading. There is some light wear to the gold filled trim. Original, relatively clean, Yellow casein color ring. They’re usually discolored or cracked. I sell replacement rings but this one doesn’t need replacement. Attention: The cap does not thread properly on the barrel. It doesn’t properly engage. If you turn it lightly it will hold a bit. At any rate…it needs attention. If you have a spare Ripple 7 barrel you could swap the sections and see if it threads better. I believe this a problem with the barrel threads. The pen is water tested only. It is filling well. The sac is a new one that I placed in the pen recently. The pen is filling when water tested but it may need some adjustments by you or your pen repair professional. Priority mail for USA.
